Controversy is currently trailing the Most Bankable African Artistes 2013 list recently released by Forbes. According to the list which was unveiled by Channel O and Forbes last Sunday, 10 big names including Akon, Don Jazzy, P- Square, D'banj, Wizkid, 2face Idibia, Anselmo Ralph(Angola), Sarkodie, Ice Prince and Banky W, were shortlisted as the Most Bankable African Artists 2013. Syria Upstages 9/11

PRESIDENT Barack Obama is in a bind. He has vowed to punish Syria's President Bashar Al Assad, for allegedly unleashing poisonous gases on his people – many are unconvinced. The 12th anniversary of September 11, America's excuse for attacking spots round the world since 2001, is taking a back seat. The war drums are beating again. Washington is angry and the world is not at ease. Russia and China are not in support, so are traditional allies Britain and France. Germany is lukewarm. Americans at home and abroad wonder if regime change in Syria is a worthy enterprise. It is a war that may produce another anti- American regime. Their stance has played a major role in the deal that Russia has broken to put Syria's chemical weapons under international supervision. Obama would seek Congress' approval and can only strike Syria if it reneges on the deal. September 11 marked one of the most horrendous attacks on people. Nineteen young Arabs ramm...

Ronaldo, Messi & Kaka show that football is the world's No.1 sport

It has long been considered a global game, but a new study reveals exactly how big football has become. Figures published by French newspaper L'Equipe on Monday show that six of the world's 10 most popular sportsmen are footballers - according to the amount of 'fans' each one has on Facebook. The world's most popular social network site is a pretty accurate barometer for the popularity of sports and athletes - and the numbers confirm a shift in popularity towards football. Top of the list sits Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, followed by Barcelona's Lionel Messi. David Beckham, now retired, completes an all-football top three, with Michael Jordan (also inactive now) next - one of three basketball players in the list, which is concluded by tennis champion Roger Federer. That means there are just three sports: football (six representatives), basketball (three) and tennis (one). And no motor racing, no golf, American fo...

Chelsea director Emenalo defends loan policy

Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo has defended the club's policy of loaning their top young talent to other clubs. The Premier League side have 24 players out on loan currently - with promising stars Victor Moses and Romelu Lukaku securing switches to Liverpool and Everton respectively on deadline day - though the west London club have been criticised for failing to give their youngsters regular game time or a chance to impress. But Emenalo has pointed to the success that several players have enjoyed on temporary deals, with Kevin de Bruyne featuring heavily so far this term having spent the previous 18 months out on loan, and believes loan spells are crucial for development. "We are trying to find a way because given Financial Fair Play stipulations we need to recruit young and we also need to have a reservoir of talent that we develop," he told the club's official website. "We identified that for young players,...
