THE CHILD

What goes through your mind when you see a young bright child in the morning....(looking) sad!! His face speaks of a bad night? Or it's just the way he has grown to be?   I see a young chap sent on an errand early in the morning, and he looks gloomy; like he is not sure what is happening next, like the $ (dollar) rise and the # (naira) fall...rose and fell on him. And my heart pump with questions, what kinda future is there for a child with this mentality? where has he gone wrong? what kinda situation is the parent in? what kinda life awaits him? Then, I purpose in my heart......... St.Skity  #GlowWithZoe

A Vital Necessity

For the believer, right thinking is a vital necessity. A vital necessity is something that is so important one simply cannot live without it- like a heartbeat is vital, or blood pressure is vital. These are things without which there is no life. The Lord impressed this truth on me years ago concerning personal fellowship with Him in prayer and the Word. I was having a terrible time disciplining myself to do these things until He showed me that they are a vital necessity. Just as my physical life is dependent upon my vital signs, so my spiritual life is dependent upon spending regular, quality time with God. Once I learned that fellowship with Him is vital, I gave it priority in my life. In the same way, once I realized that right thinking is vital to victorious living, I got more serious about thinking about what I was thinking about, and choosing my thoughts carefully. #As_You_Think_So_You_Are. I read my previous piece on the 100th day of the abduction of the Chibok Girls and I was surprised that some opinions therein, were beginning to come to fruition and it would appear that nothing had changed. A salient thought ran through my mind. At the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs October Lecture which had the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman (Professor Attahiru Jega) as guest speaker; Nigeria's former External Affairs Minister during the General Babangida regime-Professor Bolaji Akinyemi; reeled out a number of "takeaways" which sought to hammer into our re-collective skulls, several vents that have occu...
